I have suffered from bad backs on and off all my life, but it became chronic around the age of 40. The pain would stop me from running, jumping, playing chase with my children. I would struggle putting on my shoes or turning over in bed. Over three years I saw six physiotherapists, one chiropractor, I had deep tissue massage and tried Japanese acupuncture. I went to a spinal clinic and after an MRI was told my lower back spine had disc bulges and I should never run again. I became a Pilates instructor and could manage the pain with daily stretches and fortnightly massage. I had to move carefully as many things could trigger my bad back.
My GP had told me I needed to do weight training to strenghten my bones, so I started training with Wayne once weekly about six weeks ago. Over those six weeks I had four 1½ hour treatments with Wayne, releasing deep set muscle tension and tight fascia. The first three weeks of treatment and training were painful and hard, the body had to readjust and heal, my body had been stuck in a rut for such a long time. But I could tell what Wayne was doing was working. After the fourth treatment it all started to come together. I could move without pain. Muscles in my buttock and trapezius that had not worked for years switched on. My body moved better, I could do squats, lounges, even jump, and no back pain! My back is so much better, I actually forgotten how bad my back used to be, and that is only after six weeks!
Wayne’s treatment and training go hand in hand. His understanding of body mechanics is uncanny. He spots any discrepancy in movement, can put his finger (literally!) on the spot and find any muscle tightness or imbalance, and release it. He adds rehab exercises where needed and most importantly gives you back the confidence and ability to do anything you want to do! Wayne has actually changed the way I can live my life, and my back has never been happier! Thanks Wayne!!!
